What is Pet Insurance?

Pets are more than just companions — they’re family. But what happens if your pet falls ill, gets injured, or needs surgery?

Introducing ICICI Lombard’s PAW Care Insurance — a dedicated pet insurance plan that covers those unexpected moments. From medical treatments to emergency care, we’ve got you covered so your furry companion always gets the best care — without the stress of rising vet bills.

Why is Pet Insurance important?

01

Huge medical bills

30% of what Indian households spend on pets goes straight to medical expenses.#

02

High vet expenses

Vet bills range from ₹10,000 to over ₹1 lakh, depending on the severity of treatment.*

03

Increased out-of-pocket expenses

90% of pet owners pay veterinary expenses directly from their own pockets.^

04

Loved ones need protection

Because they're not just pets — they are our family.

Who should get Pet Insurance?

Dog parent

Dogs are energetic, social, and often more exposed to injuries, infections, and health issues — especially as they age. Whether it's a routine check-up, vaccination, or an unexpected surgery, having dog insurance can help cover the high costs of veterinary care and give you peace of mind.

Cat parent

While cats are usually low-maintenance, they can suffer from conditions like kidney issues, respiratory infections, or accidents — even indoors. Having a cat insurance helps you manage the cost of diagnosis, treatment, and follow-ups without compromising on care.

Multiple pet parent

If you have more than one pet (dogs, cats, or both), your vet expenses can multiply quickly. Pet insurance helps you manage healthcare costs efficiently and ensures all your furry companions get the medical attention they need without financial strain.
