According to a recent survey by insurance giant ICICI and GIC, about 25% of deaths in the age group of 25-69 years in India occur due to heart diseases. India is a vast country divided into many states and territories.

People in each region lead different lifestyles which has a significant impact on their health.

The survey recorded that about 25% of deaths in south India is caused by heart disease. This is the highest recorded percentage. Central region recorded the lowest percentage of deaths due to heart ailments (12%).

The urban India witnesses about 32.8% of deaths occur due to heart ailments. Surprisingly, the rate is lower in rural areas (22.9%). If all age groups are included, heart disease accounts for 19% of all deaths.

Eat a Healthy and Nutritious Diet: Include a lot of vegetables, fruits, whole grains, lean proteins, chicken, fish, bean, and legumes. Reduce salt.

Get Preventive Screenings: Annual check-ups are important to ensure your health status. It is surprising but true that regular dental cleaning can reduce the risk of heart attack by 31%. Oral and eye health and blood pressure also play an important role.
